It needs to be something that will get their attention and make them consider replying back. So many people fail on hookup dating sites because they don’t realize that first impressions make a big difference and they put no effort in their first message. Nine times out of ten it will be deleted and forgotten by the other person. It is actually really easy to write your first message to a special someone on a hookup dating site.
The first thing you need to do when writing your message is actually taking the time to write something worth reading. That doesn’t mean it needs to be long or full of fancy words to impress them. It means people want to read something more than “Hey, how’s it going.” or “Hi.”. People get sent those non-stop on hookup sites and it usually means an automatic delete. Aim for a good solid five or six sentences. Any more and you seem too eager and any less seems like you just wrote the first thing that popped into your head.
Introduce yourself and tell them a bit about yourself. Tell them your name, where you are, what you do for a living, what you do in your spare time and mention something from their profile to show that you read it. Read their profile. Do you share any hobbies or interests? Do you like the same movie? If so, mention it in your message. Avoid using slang or nicknames. No one wants to be called ‘sweetie’ or ‘babe’ by a stranger. Be respectful when addressing them. If they don’t mention their name on their profile then you can skip addressing them and use a lead in line instead such as “Hi, I read your profile and we have some things in common. I love…to.” then continue on with your message. Don’t mention their looks in your message. Yes, she looks hot in that bikini but she’s heard that from every other guy that’s messaged her. Say that and she’ll think you are like all of them. Do you know why she’s still on that hookup dating site? It’s because those guys never had a chance with her and neither will you if you do the same as them. Show her that you’re a mature, confident man that is interested in more than just her body.
You’ll get her interest and respect which will likely lead to rely from her. Lastly, read your message before sending it. Fix any spelling mistakes and if something sounds off then change it or erase it. You want the other person to know that you actually took the time to write them and didn’t just look at their profile pic, thought they were hot and made a lazy try for their attention.
The next time you find someone that you want to message on a hookup dating site don’t waste your time by sending them a message that will be ignored. Send them a first message that will get them interested in you.
